Fluid Linework

Video

  • draw the big shape on a layer using big, gestural lines
  • create a new layer and draw smaller details/shapes
    • it is ok and expected to intersect the lines with those from the layer bellow
  • delete hidden lines on the lower layer
  • merge the layers

Using the vector eraser in Clip Studio Paint

The vector eraser offers a similar result, but can be used only in Clip Studio:

  • make a vector layer
  • draw the bigger shape
  • draw the smaller shapes
  • use the vector eraser to delete extra stuff

  • all iPad apps allow gestures to rotate, pan and zoom the canvas
  • on PC/macOS use keyboard shortcuts to rotate, pan and zoom
  • use an eraser for cleaning line endings
