Importing Photoshop .aco color palettes

  • Menu > Window > Color Set
  • click on the menu of the Color Set palette
  • select the Import Color set… menu
  • select your .aco file (or files)

Intermediate Color

  • Menu > Window > Intermediate Color
  • the Intermediate Color palette mixes up to 4 colors
  • the mouse cursor changes into a bucket when hovering over one of the 4 corner boxes - click the mouse button to fill that corner the current drawing color
  • keep the bottom left to white and the bottom right to black to get also color shades

Approximate Color

  • Menu > Window > Intermediate Color
  • allows you to get analogous colors
  • start a color - this will become the main color of this palette
  • play with the horizontal and vertical sliders until you get the desired colors
  • you can now pick any color from this palette
  • if you change the sliders, the current color becomes the main color (central) color of this palette

Color History

  • Menu > Window > Intermediate Color
  • shows all colors you’ve selected and used for drawing
  • you can save the current colors as a set or clear the history via the palette menu

Selecting colors via Sub View

  • Menu > Window > Sub View
  • Sub View palette allows you to use some references without restoring to opening them in a tab, as a regular drawing image
  • you can load multiple references in the Sub View
  • use the color picker to select colors from your reference images
  • the images loaded in the Sub View are reloaded when the program restarts and are not tied to a particular document
